The short version: nothing you build leaves your browser.

Last updated 4 September 2026.

What we do not collect

GetEA has no account system, no login and no strategy database. Your strategies, your generated code and any CSV of price data you load are processed entirely by JavaScript running in your own browser. None of it is uploaded, and there is no server endpoint that could receive it even if you wanted to send it.

What is stored on your device

Two keys in localStorage: getea.current holds the strategy you are editing so a refresh does not lose it, and getea.library holds strategies you explicitly saved, together with the summary of any backtest you attached. A third key, ga-theme, remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. You can remove all of it by clearing site data for this domain.

Price data you upload

A CSV you drop into the backtester is read with the browser's FileReader, held in memory for the length of the session, and discarded when you close the tab. It is never written to storage and never transmitted.

Analytics and advertising

Like the other GetApps tools, this site may load privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and may display advertising in the reserved slots. Those third parties see the usual request metadata — IP address, user agent, referring page — and may set their own cookies subject to their own policies. They never receive your strategies, your code or your price data, because that content never leaves the page.

Hosting

The site is served as static files from Firebase Hosting. Standard web server logs apply.

Your rights

There is no personal data held about you to access, correct or delete, because none is collected. If you have a question anyway, use the GetApps support page.

Not financial advice

GetEA generates code and simulates rules. It does not provide investment advice, does not recommend any strategy or instrument, and makes no forecast. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of loss.
